Shaikh Bin Baz rahimahullah was asked:

Question:

What is the ruling on piercing the nose for women and is it correct or is it an innovation? And the one who does not do this, is she sinning? We hope you can clarify the ruling for us? May Allah reward you

Answer:

We do not know of any harm in this, rather this is from the jewelry that the women use. Piercing the nose and ear is what the women do to wear jewelry. So there is no harm in it, inshallah, and it is not obligatory”.

Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin al-‘Abbad hafidhuhallah was asked:

Question:

Some women pierce their nose and place jewelry in it. Is this allowed?

Answer:

If the custom of the women is to beautify with this, then there is no harm. It will be like an earring. This was present in the times before. However, it has been left off in this time.

Some scholars hold other views pertaining to the ruling on a woman piercing her nose,

For example, Ash-Shaykh Muhammad bin Saalih al-Uthaymeen said when asked regarding it:

“With regard to piercing the nose, then I do not recall any statement from the
scholars regarding it. However, within it is the disfigurement and the deforming of the appearance as we see it.”

Although what the brother Faisal translated is closer to be the correct opinion.

As for a scenario of it being seen by strangers and it draws fitnah to her, then that has a different ruling inshaa Allah.
