Ash-Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan was asked the following question:

Question:

What is the ruling on a person who abandoned three Jumu’ah prayers due to the excuse he is going out [on a trip] with his family?

Answer:

“There is no harm, if he were to travel a far distance out of town wherein he can’t hear the adhaan and which is far away from the Masaajid. Then [in that case] the Jumu’ah prayer is no longer required from him. However, the fact he is doing it consecutively while every jumu’ah he leaves to travel, then this contains negligence concerning the jumu’ah prayer and depriving oneself from the immense reward. However, he is not to be considered from those who fall under the threat of being one who abandons the jumu’ah prayer since that is relating to those who are residing in the town…As for if he is merely leaving [out of town] to avoid praying Jumu’ah, then this act is haraam upon him…”

Ash-Shaykh Bin Baaz, rahimahullah, was asked on the ruling on travelling before the Adhaan of Jumu’ah [in the morning]:

فإذا كان السفر قبل الأذان قبل زوال الشمس فلا حرج إن شاء الله، والأفضل لك عدم السفر حتى تصلي الجمعة، هذا هو الأفضل لك، لكن إن سافرت قبل دخول الوقت فلا حرج في ذلك

Answer:

…If the travel is before the adhaan and before the zawaal [i.e. the entry of the timing for the Jumu’ah prayer], then there is no harm inshaa Allah. What is more preferable for you is that you do not travel up until you pray Jumu’ah, this is what is better for you. However, if you were to travel before the entry of the timing [for the jumu’ah prayer], then there is no sin in that…

A Side Note: There are other scholars who see that if it is done consecutively then it is not permissible for him to do so.
