Regarding the hadeeth in which the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “Whoever among you is able to die in Madinah, let him die in it for verily I will intercede for the one who dies in it.”, Shaykh Bin Baz rahimahullah said:

“The narrations in this chapter are authentic. He صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “whoever is patient upon its hardships and distress, I will be for him an intercessor – or witness – on the Day of Judgement.” So whoever is patient upon its hardships and is steadfast upon the Deen of Allah, then this is from the means of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم being a witness and intercessor for him. [And this being] with these conditions: patience upon its hardships and distress, along with steadfastness upon obedience to Allaah. Muslim has transmitted some of it.” End translation. [Reference]
