Ash-Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan, may Allaah preserve him, was asked the following question:

Question:

Some of the imams prolong the qunut to the extent it becomes difficult [to bear]. And being this is the case, I leave off praying Witr with the Imam and I pray it at home since I won’t be able to bear it due to back pain. Therefore, is my action correct and would I be obtaining the full reward in do so?

Answer:

If you have an excuse then it is okay. However, the question is why don’t you sit? Sit and say “Amin” upon his du’a since this is better than you leaving. Therefore, say “Amin”  while you are in a sitting position. Walhamdulilah, naam.

Some of the Imams prolong the supplication of qunut a lot. Is it allowed for me to sit if he makes supplication and I am tired of standing?
