Ash-Shaykh Zayd al-Madkhalee, may Allah have mercy upon him, was asked the following question:
Question:
Is it to be said about a man from the general folks of the Muslims, who possess the doubts of the people of hizbiyyah that he is a hizbi?
Answer:
“Whosoever imitates a people, then he is from them. However he is to be advised first, the truth is to be clarified for him because the ignorant one could be deceived. Therefore, the truth is to be clarified to him and he is to be guided to it, this is the mercy of the scholars. So if he was to persist and refuse and defend the people of innovations, then his ruling is the same as their ruling due to them being in agreement together upon choosing the bid’ah and giving it preference over the sunnah, and this is clear misguidance”.

Ash-Shaykh Bin Baaz, may Allah have mercy upon him, was asked the following question:
Question:
The one who praises Ahlul Bid’ah and extols them is he to be added to them?
Answer:
“Yes, there is no doubt, the one who praises them and extols them, then he is a caller for them, (meaning) he calls to them. This person is from their callers (and) we ask Allah for salvation”.

Ash-Shaykh Muqbil, may Allah have mercy upon him, said:
“…Boycotting should be for the sake of Allah and it should not be for the purpose of personal agendas and it should be within the guidelines of the Book and the Sunnah. I see that some of our brothers have expanded the affair of boycotting, whereas he passes by a hizbi and he does not give him salaams. No, rather, when passing by a hizbi that his level of hizbiyyah hasn’t reach to the level of disbelief, you should give him salaams and the fact you are merely giving him salaams while averting away from (him) is more greater and more severe (upon him)…it is sufficient that you are merely giving him salaams while not attending his lectures nor his lessons and not attending their gatherings, this is that which has upset them (i.e. the people of hizbiyyah)…”
