The Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam used to make supplication seeking refugee from a corrupt Aqeedah and Inshallah we should as well.

On the authority of Ibn ‘Umar radiallahu anhumma:

‘Rarely would the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stand from a sitting until he supplicated with these words for his Companions: [in that supplication it mentions]

وَلاَ تَجْعَلِ الدُّنْيَا أَكْبَرَ هَمِّنَا وَلاَ مَبْلَغَ عِلْمِنَا

“and do not make this world our greatest concern, nor the limit of our knowledge”,

[Saheeh Tirmidhi no. 3502]

Mulla Ali al-Qaari rahimahullah said in commentary:

“That is: do not afflict us with what will decrease our religion from evil aqeedah, eating haram, taking a break in worship and other than it. [And do not make] this world our greatest concern, purpose, and sadness. That is: do not make seeking wealth and honor the greatest of our concerns or source of our sadness. Or do not make the worldly life our greatest concern or source of our sadness. Rather, make our greatest concern and source of sadness the actions of the hereafter. In this Hadith is [evidence] that a little concern for what is necessary from the affairs for living is allowed, rather it is recommended, rather an obligation…”

[Mir’aah ul-Mafaatih]

Also in the other Hadith:

قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏ “‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ مُنْكَرَاتِ الأَخْلاَقِ وَالأَعْمَالِ وَالأَهْوَاءِ

“[The Prophet (ﷺ)] used to say: ‘O Allah, I seek refuge in You from evil character, evil actions, and evil desires

[Saheeh Tirmidhi no. 3591]

Imam Mulla Ali Qaari rahimahullah said:

“and evil desires so the intent of desires is general: in Aqeedah, evil, corrupt desires which are not taken from the Book and Sunnah..”

[Mir’aah ul-Mafaatih]
