Shaykh Abdul-Muhsin Al-Abbaad, may Allaah preserve him, said:

“As for the ‘new’ university’s life, which the newspaper has alleged to be better (more specialized) now than when it began, in reality it (the jami’ah) is in its period of weakness and oldness which deserves consolation for. I have lived with this university, and my youth was its youth, and in my old age I have reached its old age and weakness. And to Allah belongs all affairs. It saddens and pains me greatly to see the University that was founded on piety from the first day (and its founders being Shaykh Muhammad bin Ibrahim and Abdul Azeez bin Baaz, may Allaah have mercy upon them) that its affairs, a half-century after its establishment, have come to be blown by the wind; bursting forth as hurricanes, and it has become an amusement place for westerners, journalists, and even for journalist women who were not found there years ago.” End.
