Abu Rafia said I saw the messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam utter the Athaan in the ear of Hassan Ibn Ali when Fatimah gave birth to him. Shaykh Saleem Al Hilaali in his checking of Tuhfatul Mawdood mentions this narration is weak.
As for the narration of Al Hassan Ibn Ali from the prophet Sallalahu alaihi wassallam: Whoever has a born child, then let him utter the athan in his right ear and the iqaamah in his left ear, and it will be raised from him Umm Subhaanahu (a follower from amongst the Jinn), then Shaykh Saleem says it is fabricated.
As for the narration of Ibn Abbas that the prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam uttered the Athan in the ear of Al Hassan Ibn Ali on the day he was born and the Iqaamah in his left ear, Shaykh Saleem said it is fabricated.
(Tuhfatul Mawdood page 61-63 Print Dar Ibnul Qaiyum with Checking of Shaykh Saleem Al Hilaali)
Shaykh Saleem also mentioned in the footnotes on page 64:
“It hasn’t been affirmed in regards to uttering the Athaan in the ear of the new born a hadeeth nor a narration from a companion; it has only been relayed from Umar Ibn Abdul Azeez as in Musanaf Abdurrazaaq”
After mentioning the narration, he mentioned its chain is very weak.
