Ash-Shaykh Saaleh al Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) was asked regarding the ruling on a student of knowledge who follows up the mistakes of some of the Du’at then compiles it and distributes it in tape form, and if this is from the the methodology of the salafi?
Answer:
If the intention (of the person) is to clarify the truth and clarify the mistake, then this is good. This is from da’wah to Allaah that we clarify the mistakes so that the people do not fall in to it. However, if the intention (of the person) is to please his own desires and to seek revenge against the person and to degrade the honor of the person, then this not permissible.
