Here is a benefit about ordering the good and prohibiting the evil especially when we see evil which we have difficulty in prohibiting.

Narrated Al-‘Urs bin ‘Amirat al-Kindi:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “When sin is done in the earth, he who sees it and disapproves of it will be taken like one who was not present, but he who is not present and approves of it will be like him who sees.

[Saheeh Abi Dawood no. 4345]

Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin al-‘Abbad hafidhuhallah said:

“It’s meaning is: as if he did not see it because he saw evil and disapproved of it. So he is like the one who did not see it because he is safe by his detestation and he saved from what he saw…if he hears of an affair that occurred and he is absent, yet he is pleased/amazed by it, then it is as if he is one who saw it. This is because he is pleased with an evil affair and pleased with a prohibited affair. So by this pleasure, joy, and happiness of its occurrence despite his absence, he is like one who is present or saw it”

[Sharh Abi Dawood no. 489]

Mulla Ali Qaari rahimahullah mentions:

“So he detests it even in his heart…”
