Allaah says in the Qur’aan:

It is Allah Who has created seven heavens and of the earth the like thereof (i.e. seven). His Command descends between them (heavens and earth), that you may know that Allah has power over all things, and that Allah surrounds (comprehends) all things in (His) Knowledge.

[65:12]

As for the narration of Ibn Abbas about this verse stating:

“If I told you the true meaning of this verse, you would disbelieve. And your disbelief would be the rejection of it.”

a group of scholars have declared that narration of Ibn Abbas to be weak.

Also Ash-Shaykh al-Uthaymeen rahimahullah mentions that the claim which states it is possible that there be humans living on other planets goes against some of the verses of the Quran which indicate that the children of Aadam will only live on the earth.

[Reference]

However, concerning our stance of there being possible life on planets for creatures who aren’t humans, then we shouldn’t negate the possibility of it due to the statement of Allah:

“And He creates that which you know not.”

[16:8]

Rather, the person instead should refer the knowledge of that to Allah, The All-Knowing.
