First Hadith:

Narrated Abu Hurayrah:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: He who has hair should honour it.

Reported by Abu Dawud and graded fair by Shaykh Albany rahimahullah

Second Hadith:

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) paid visit to us, and saw a dishevelled man whose hair was disordered. He said: Could this man not find anything to set ‘tidy’ his hair?” He saw another man wearing dirty clothes and said: Could this man not find something to wash his garments with.

Reported by Abu Dawud and others. Graded authentic by Albany rahimahullah.

Third Hadith :

On the authority of Abu Qatadah that he had long thick hair. He asked the Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam (about it) and he told him to take care of it and comb it every day.

Reported by an-Nasaa’e.

Now unfortunately, it has become a fashion to leave one’s hair disordered and matted and Allah’s aid is sought.

A Side Note: As for the narration:

“A comb never left the possession of the Prophet (salahu alayhi wasalam) whether he was traveling or present (in Madinah)”

Then it has been established to be a weak narration, as has been stated by Shaykh Albany rahimahullah.
