Shaykha Umm Abdillaah, the daughter Of Shaykh Muqbil Bin Hadi Al-Wadi’i, said,
“Fasting Ramadan must have its effects apparent upon us because Allah (‘Azza Wa Jal) said in His Honorable Book,
‘يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ’
‘O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious)’ [Sura Al-Baqarah, Ayah 183]
Has it affected us? It is incumbent that we look [whether there is] a change in our situations after Ramadan or have we stayed as thieves? It is incumbent to look [into] our situations oh Ummah of Islam.” End translation. [Al-Murj’i al-Fawakih al-lajniah 262 Al-Wadi’i Rahimahullah)]
