‘Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Whoever of you performs Wudu’ carefully and then affirms: ‘Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallahu Wahdahu la sharika Lahu, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa Rasuluhu [I testify that there so no true god except Allah Alone, Who has no partners and that Muhammad ((ﷺ) is His slave and Messenger],’ the eight gates of Jannah are opened for him. He may enter through whichever of these gates he desires (to enter).”

[Muslim]

Ibn Hajar rahimahullah commented on the hadeeth that the 8 gates will be left open for him as a means of honour تكريما, not necessarily meaning he will be able to enter from all 8 gates.

Also, al-Imam as-Sindi rahimahullah mentioned that the hadeeth means Allaah will grant him success to be from the doers of multiple good deeds in this life so that he could be called out from all 8 gates In Shaa Allaah and others have said it means he will be called out from all 8 gates but he only be able to enter the gate he is renowned for from the deeds he did more of. In all cases, the individual should hope that he would be given the privilege to enter from all 8 gates In Shaa Allaah.
