Here is some powerful speech from Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan that a person shouldn’t just go and attend for anyone who comes in town. May Allah make it as a benefit and a reminder for all of us.

Ash-Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan, may Allah preserve him, said:

And as for the individuals who are ascribing to be giving da’wah then it is a must they be examined: where have they studied? And where did they take their knowledge from? And where were they cultivated from? And what is their aqeedah? And their actions and their effect on the people are to be examined and what have they produced of goodness? And what have their actions brought forward of rectification?

It is a must that their state be examined before becoming deceived by their statements and their appearance; this is a matter that is mandatory, especially in this era wherein the Duaats of fitnah have become much.

Therefore, it is upon us to be cautious of this and we shouldn’t crowd around every tom dick and harry and around everyone who says he is calling to Allah or that this group is calling to Allah. It is obligatory (and it is) the reality of the matter (that he) be looked at and it is a must the reality of the individuals and the groups be examined. For verily Allah has restricted the act of Dawah to that which is to His path
