قال العلامة ابن عثيمين -رحمه الله-:
إذا كان الزمان صالحا وكان الناس فيه على الاستقامة سهُل على الإنسان أن يستقيم،
لكن إذا كان الزمان فاسدا وكان الناس فيه على غير الاستقامة فإن الاستقامة تكون صعبة لأن الإنسان إذا استقام في مثل هذا الزمان وجد نفسه غريبا بين الناس وطوبى للغرباء .
شرح الكافية الشافية (٢٣٢/٤)
Al-‘Allaamah Ibn Uthaimeen rahimahullaah said:
“When a period of time is righteous and the people in it are upon Istiqaamah (steadfastness), it is made easy for a man to be steadfast. However, when a period of time is corrupt and the people in it are upon other than steadfastness, then verily it becomes difficult because if a man were to be steadfast in times like this, he will find himself to be strange among the people, and glad tidings for the strangers.” End translation.
