Zakat al-Fitr is obligatory upon the one who has enough food on the night and day of Eid. It obligatory upon him to give one Saa’ of food as Zakatul-Fitr. If a person who does not work a steady job has enough food for the day of Eid, then he gives Zakatul-Fitr. The Scholars also mention the poor person must give Zakatul-Fitr if he has enough food for the day of Eid.
