The Lajnah (Permanent Committee For Scholarly Research And Ifta’) said:

“Wearing the Imaamah is from the customs and not from the acts of worship. The prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم only wore it because it was from the clothing of his people. Bothing is authentic in regards to the virtue of wearing the Imamaahs, other than that the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم wore it. Thus it is legislated for the individual that he wears that which is made easy for him from the clothing of the people of his land so long as it is not unlawful”
