Imam Muqbil was asked about the ruling of the statement of some that the books of the latter scholars and of Imam Al Albani have no value.
He replied,
“As for it being said that the books of the latter scholars and the books of Ash Shaykh Naasirud Deen Al Albani have no value, then this is a mistake. I seek from you that you say, ‘we don’t blindfollow Ash Shaykh Al Albani, and if we were to be blind followers of him, we would have blind followed Abu Bakr, or we would have blind followed Ahmed Ibn Hanbal, or we would have blind followed Ash Shafiee’. Yet that you say the books of Ash Shaykh Al Albani have no value, then this is a mistake. The researcher can’t do without them [his books]. So I say that he can’t do without the books of Ash Shaykh Al Albani and we don’t call to his Taqleed, rather blindfollowing is impermissible and we don’t take with all of his statements. Rather, he might authenticate some of the narrations and we hesitate in regards to its authenticity, or he declares it hassan and we hesitate, and this doesn’t harm him, so all praise is to Allah. His books are spread. The scholar and the one learning benefits from them, Allahul Mustaa’an” End translation. [قمع المعاند ص ٥٣٤]
