Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan was asked,

Question:

“Is it allowed to pray in front of a heater while it is working? Does this have an effect on the ‘Aqeedah?”

Answer:

“There is no harm in praying in front of an electric heater even if it is turned on because it is like an electric lamp which is used for lighting. Verily the jurists (may Allah have mercy upon them) mentioned a dislike to pray in front of fire and the electric heater is not fire. The dislike of praying facing a fire is because in it is a resemblance to the Zoroastrians who worship the fire. And Allah knows best”. End translation.
