As for Ilmul Kalaam rethoric then the scholars mention

Ash Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Hizaam said:

“There is no doubt that it is not befitting for a person to busy himself with this knowledge, for it is knowledge that leads to the hardening of the heart, it turns you away from the knowledge of the Qur’an and Sunnah, [and] you don’t benefit from it anything. Indeed many of the Mutakalimeen went deep into this knowledge, then they regretted upon that, from the likes of Ar Raaziee, Al Juwayni, similarly Al Ghazaali and other then them. They went deep into this knowledge, then they realized there is nothing better then returning to the book and the sunnah and leaving this knowledge which has no benefit in it. All that is in it is turning the person away from the truth. Thus, he remains doubtful and leads him to having doubts.

Also it is said by some of the Salaf:

“Being ignorant of Ilmul Kalaam is knowledge and having knowledge of it is ignorance.”
