Imam As Si’adi said regarding the Athkaar after the prescribed prayers:

“Meaning that the prayer is a polishing of the heart, and the remembrance after it is a wipe for it, thus it becomes complete in cleanliness, it is (also) a symbol for the prayer and a sign that one has finished it (the prayer)”

If anyone has cleaned or polished something before, he would realize the beauty of that Statement for applying polish is one thing, and wiping and spreading that polish shines it to a different extent.
