عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، اسْتَحْمَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ ” إِنِّي حَامِلُكَ عَلَى وَلَدِ النَّاقَةِ ” . فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا أَصْنَعُ بِوَلَدِ النَّاقَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ” وَهَلْ تَلِدُ الإِبِلَ إِلاَّ النُّوقُ ” .
Anas narrated:
“A man sought a mount [to ride] from the Messenger of Allah, Therefore the Messenger sallahu alayhi wa salam said: ‘Indeed, I will let you ride on a she-camel’s born.’ So he said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! What can a she-camel’s born do?’ So the Messenger of Allah, said :
‘Are camels born from anything other than she-camels?'”
Reported by At-Tirmidhee and others. Graded saheeh by Ash-Shaykh Albany rahimahullah.
The Fiqh of This Narration:
Ash-Shaykh Al-Mubaarakfuuri, rahimahullah, commented on the aforementioned hadeeth saying:
ففيه مع المباسطة له الإشارة إلى إرشاده وإرشاد غيره بأنه ينبغي لمن سمع قولا أن يتأمله ولا يبادر إلى رده إلا بعد أن يدرك غوره .
” … Therein is a slight indication which consists of words of guidance for him and others that it is appropriate for he who hears something to actually consider it [first] and he shouldn’t haste to reject it except after comprehending the meanings that it entails.”
Note: Amazing, even the words that are expressed by the Prophet sallahu alayhi wa salam out of humour comprise of benefits.
Al-Imaam Shaafie, rahimahullah, said:
” Measure your words of humour as the measure of salt in your food.”
