Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan was asked:

Question:

“May Allah be good to you. What is your opinion oh virtuous [shaikh] on wearing the clothing called Punjabi [clothing] for women? It consists of a long blouse that reaches below the knees and underneath it is very wide pants?

Answer:

“The Muslim women wears the Muslim clothing in her land. We are not in Punjab. We are in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the land of the Arab, the land of the two harams. So it is not our clothing and we do not wear the Punjabi clothing. If you want to wear the clothing of Punjab, then go to Punjab and live there. Yes” End translation. [Reference]
