The lajnah (Permanent Committee For Scholarly Research And Ifta’) said:
“Wearing high heels is not permissible as it presents a danger for women to fall as a person is ordered by the sharee’ah to stay clear from all types of danger due to the generality of the statement of Allah:
“Do not throw your hands into destruction.”
And the statement of Allah:
“Do not kill yourselves.”
And it also exaggerates the posteriors of the woman than what it is in reality, and this is a type of tadlees – deception. And this is also a type of beautification which has been forbidden in Islam for a Muslim woman to display due to Allah’s statement:
“And let not the women expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, theirs husbands’ fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons, their sisters’ sons, their women…”
“. End translation. لنور/31 انتهى من فتاوى اللجنة الدائمة ( مجلة البحوث 9/46 )]
