Ash-Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan, may Allah preserve him, was asked the following question :
Question:
Oh Eminent Shaykh, is this method correct in giving da’wah: that the first thing that one should begin with is calling the people to possess good characters?
The Answer : “No, this is misguidance, its in opposition to the dawah of the Messengers. This is the dawah of the hizbis now and it is a dawah upon falsehood, yes. Since its opposing the methodology of the Messengers. They want the people to remain on their (corrupted) beliefs whether it be the creed of grave-worshiping or idol-worshiping or sufism. What is important (to them) is the people being together and that they follow them only, yes”
Nowadays in some mosques a person is only allowed to speak regarding certain topics such as possessing good characteristics and is not allowed for him to speak about some of the corrupted ideologies that is being spread in the midst of the people and Allah’s aid is sought.
