قال شيخ الإسلام رحمه الله

“Shaykhul Islam Ibn Taymiyah said:”

: وإنما تكلم الفقهاء في من صلى بالوضوء الأول هل يستحب له التجديد؟

“The Fuqahaa only spoke in regards to the one who prays with the first ablution (on the question:) is it recommended for him to renew his ablution?”

وأما من لم يصل به فلا يستحب له إعادة الوضوء,

“As for the one who didn’t pray with it (the ablution), then it isn’t recommended for him to renew his ablution.”

بل تجديد الوضوء في مثل هذا بدعة مخالفة لسنة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم, ولما عليه المسلمون في حياته وبعده إلى هذا الوقت. انتهى.

“Rather, renewing the ablution in similar to this (situation) is an innovation, in opposition to the Sunnah of the messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه و سلم and that which the Muslims are upon while he (the Prophet) was alive and after him until this time.”
