Shaikh Ibn ul-‘Uthaymeen is not the only Scholar who holds the opinion that one cannot kill if forced. It is the consensus of the Ummah according to Ibn ul-Arabi
Ibn ul-Arabi rahimahullah said:
فلا خلاف بين الأمة أنه إذا أكره عليه بالقتل أنه لا يحل له أن يفدي نفسه بقتل غيره ; ويلزمه أن يصبر على البلاء الذي ينزل به ، ونسأل الله العافية في الدنيا والآخرة
There is no difference of opinion between the Ummah that if he is forced to kill, that it is not allowed for him to ransom himself by killing another. It is necessary for him to be patient upon the trial which befell him and we ask Allah for well-being in the worldly life and the hereafter.
