Shaykh Ali At-Tuwayjiree was asked:

Question:

There are certain days here wherein the tradesmen lower their prices in order to compete with each other in profit. However, the majority of these days occur right after religious holidays of the kuffar. Therefore, is there any prohibition for a Muslim to offer discounts on his products during these days in order for his business to not suffer a loss?

Answer:

“There is nothing that prohibits a Muslim [from this] as long as he is not doing it for their religious holidays. [Meaning] it is not for the purpose of their Eid. However, he merely wishes to profit in his business and its not during the time of their Eid. So there is no harm in this [act] since actions are to be judged by their intentions.” End quote.
