Ash Shaykh Abu Ammar Yasir Al Adani hafithullah mentioned in the tape من أخطاء الصائمين في رمضان:
“Ramadan, it is said ‘Ramadan’ without mentioning ‘shahr’ (month). Also, it is said, ‘the month of Ramadan’, so you can say this or you can say this. Some of the people of knowledge have prevented from singling out the word Ramadan without mentioning the month (meaning saying رمضان and not saying الشهر with it) because they used as proof a hadeeth that was narrated by Imam Ibn Khuzaymah and other than him that the prophet sallallahu alaihi wassallam said,
‘If the month of Ramadan comes in, then don’t say ‘Ramadan has come’ but say, ‘the month of Ramadan has come’ for verily it is a name from the names of Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala’
This narration is a weak narration and is not authentic from the prophet sallallahu alaihi wassalalm. It came by way of Abi Ma’shar Najeeh ibn Abdir-rahman as-sindi and this man the ulema have repeatedly mentioned he is weak”
