The Imam, the Skillful, the Scholar of Hadith, the Mufassir, Abu Abdillah Muhammad bin Abdillah as-Sulami al-Mursi al-Andalusi (d. 655 H.), may Allah have mercy upon him recited the following lines of poetry:

“Whoever desires salvation then there is no [way to obtain it]
Besides following the Chosen One in that which he came with

That is the straight path and other than it
Are the paths of misguidance, temptation, and destruction

So follow the Book and the Sunnan which
Are authentic. If you follow that then it is guidance

Leave off the question: ‘why’? And ‘how’? For verily it
Is the door which leads the possessor of insight towards blindness

The Religion is what the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said and his Companions
And the Tabi’oon and whoever follows their methodology”
