السؤال: هل يقاس على الإسراع في المشي إلى الصلاة الإسراع بالسيارة؟

Question:

Is speeding with the car based upon analogy similar to rushing while walking to the prayer?

الجواب: الإسراع بالسيارة لا يجوز لا في الصلاة ولا في غيرها؛ لأن فيه خطراً، فلا ينبغي للإنسان أن يسرع بالسيارة.

Answer:

Speeding with the car isn’t permissible, not due to the prayer nor due to other than it, because in it is danger. Thus it’s not befitting for a person to speed with the car.

Ash-Shaykh Muhammad bin Ibrahim AaliShaykh rahimahullah, said:

إِذا خشي فوات الجماعة أَو الجمعة ، فله العجلة ، وذلك أَنه شيء لا بدل له ، فيكون ما اختاره الشيخ هو ارتكاب إِحدى المفسدتين

“If he fears missing the whole Jama’ah or the entire Jum’ah, then he could rush (i.e for the Salat) and that is since it (i.e the Jama’ah or the Jumuah) won’t have a replacement for it. Therefore, what the Shaykh (i.e Ibn Taymiyyah) chose was from the angle of the lesser of the two evils… ”
