Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan (may Allah preserve him) was asked:

Question:

“There exists in this era those who have fanaticism towards personalities despite the truth being against them. So [we] hope for advice [from you]. How do we advise these youth? May Allah reward you with good.”

Answer:

“We advise them to learn first. They will not be fanatical towards anyone except due to ignorance. It is upon them to learn beneficial knowledge and understand their religion. So the truth will become clear to them in shaa Allah. As long as they are ignorant or are pretenders of knowledge, then this will not increase them except in differing and discord between them”.
