“Is it allowed for me to give a command to make a sale and a purchase through the phone while I’m inside the masjid since I don’t want to miss out from the reward of remaining in the masjid from one salaat to another or does this fall into the hadeeth

الجواب : لا، لا، ما يجوز، الأصلُ أنّه ما يجوزُ، لو أمكنَ هذا أصبحَ الـمُعتكِفُ في المسجد يبيعُ ويشتري بالجوال .

Answer:

“No, no, it is not permissible. The orgin is that it is not permissible. If this was possible, the person doing itikaaf would begin to buy and sell through the phone.” End quote. [Reference]
