‏قال الإمام ابن عون – رحمه الله – :

《 لا تثق بكثرة العمل فإنك لا تدري يقبل منك أم لا ، ولا تأمن ذنوبك فإنك لا تدري هل كفرت عنك أم لا. |[ التَّوْبـة لابن ابي الدنيا (صـ٧٣) ]|

Ibn Awn rahimahu’allah said,

“Do not be content with performing many actions for verily you do not know whether they are accepted from you or not. Also, do not feel safe from your sins, for verily you do not know if they have been expiated from you or not.” End translation. [Al-Tauwbah of Ibn Abee Dunya (page 73)]
