Shaikh Muhammad Amaan al-Jaami (may Allah have mercy upon him) said:

“And the least that will befall a student of knowledge who seeks knowledge at the hands of the innovators is that dislike for the people of innovation, disobedience, and opposition is removed from his heart. And also the obligation of loving for Allah’s sake and hating for Allah’s sake will be absent [from him]. Such a person does not care to sit with a Sunni or with an innovator and the ruling according to him is in accordance to what he thinks is in the interest of the Da’wah. So he moves with it wherever it moves.

And in Allah aid is sought. That is from the signs of the sickness of the heart which leads to a type of hypocrisy. In Allah refuge is sought”.
