Shaykh Abdul Hameed Al Hajooree mentioned,

الحمد لله والصلاة والسلام على رسول الله

“This is a clarification [that I present to you] and it is that it is befitting that we focus on the chapter of Tawheed and Aqeedah. That is because atheism has entered among the people except for those whom Allah has mercy upon. [For example it has entered upon] those who claim the religion of nature have become widespread, along with those who have different theories connected to atheism. Some of the people now are in need of being clarified to [the fact] that Allah is the creator, sustainer, and the one who controls all the affairs and has full sovereignty. [This clarification is needed to people] such as those who say there is no lord and that life is materialism (i.e. there is no purpose to this life except to amass materialistic affairs), or those who say that creation occurred by itself, or that it was a change of process, or those who say that this all occurred naturally.

This great perfection in this wide universe, whether it be in regards to the creation which is living and has a soul, or in regards to the tree and that which is similar it, or the different creations which are solid such as the mountains, stones, different forms of sand, and minerals, all of that indicates there is only one who controls and runs this creation, and that is Allah. [He is the one] which one knows by way of his natural disposition and by way of his universal and legislative signs. Allah [is the one] who is not incapable of anything. And that which all of this necessitates [in] belief is that he singles out Allah in the different forms of worship such as prayer, fasting, the pilgrimage, night prayer, his remembrance, invoking him, putting one’s trust in him, hoping in him and other than that.

[He is] the creator, sustainer, and sovereign. The one controlling this creation is the one deserving of all of that and for that reason Allah sent down books and sent messengers.

Allah says,

‘And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): “Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc. i.e. do not worship Taghut besides Allah).”‘ [16:36]

Do not attach your heart to a grave, stone, tree, idol, sun, nor moon for all of these are from the creation of Allah

Allah says,

‘Prostrate not to the sun nor to the moon, but prostrate to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship Him.’ [41:37]

Similarly the people come to know their lord by way of His names and attributes. [Also] by His perfect beautiful names which He named Himself with or His messenger صلى الله عليه و سلم named Him with, or all His high attributes which are present in the book and Sunnah and taken from the book and Sunnah.

This, may Allah bless you, is Tawheed with the people of knowledge and with the people of the Sunnah. [Note] that it is categorized into three categories:

1. Tawheed Ar Ruboobiyah, and that is to single out Allah with regard to His actions such as creation, sustaining, sovereignty, controlling all affairs, and so on.
2. Tawheed Al Uloohiyah, and that is that Allah be singled out in the actions of his creation, such as prayer, fasting, remembrance, invocation, reliance, hope and other than that from the actions of his creation
3. Tawheed of Al Asma Was Sifaat, and that is to single out Allah with what He has from names and attributes

And Allahs aid is sought.
