Shaykh Muhsin al-Abbaad was asked the following question:

Question:

The turban or Shamaagh which some of them wear when praying. (Regarding it,) they (the wearers) let its ends hang when going into ruku’. Is this considered from sadl?

Answer:

No, this is not from it because sadl is only in something that leads to harm. (An example) is like a person who has an upper garment, so due to sadl, it falls. As for a person who has on a Qamees, ghutrah, mashlah (outer cloak) and he does not hold back its ends or tie its ends, or he does not gather them together, then that does not affect [him or the prayer]
