Lajnah Ad Daimah was asked:

Question:

What is the ruling of the slaughter of the one who slaughters for his parents whilst he is from those who shaves his beard, or clips his nails during the first ten days of Thull Hijjah?

Answer:

His slaughter is correct whether it be for himself or for his parents,

[Him] shaving his beard or clipping his nails during the first ten days before the slaughter or the sacrifice doesn’t nullify it.

He has done bad with clipping his nails in those days and committed an evil unrestrictedly with shaving his beard, except that shaving it in those ten days is more severe. End quote.

A Side Note: If one were to clip his nails or remove hair out of ignorance or forgetfulness, then he isn’t included in this because this is regarding one who does it intentionally. As for the one who makes a mistake or forgets, then as Allah says:

Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error.
