Al-Muhadith, Ash-Shaykh Muqbil, may Allah have mercy upon him, was asked about listening to the recitations of some of the people of desires, so he, may Allah have mercy upon him, replied by saying:

يستفاد من قراءة الصالحين السلفيين، ومن هو مستور حال لا بأس بسماع قراءته الطيبة، وأما من علم بالبدعة فإن سماع قراءته قد يجلب الاغترار به فلا ينصح بذلك

“The recitations of the righteous salafis are to be benefited from. As for the one whose condition is unknown, then it is okay to listen to his good recitation and as for the one who is known for bidah then listening to his recitation can cause him in being deceived by him. Therefore, that is not advised…”
